I feel like this annual report will call for a lot of opportunities to play with text and body copy. So the 6x2 grid feels most comfortable, well thats for now anyways.

Starting Over
Turning over a new leaf :)
I have decided that I was completely lost on ideas for the Disney annual report design. Instead of continuing to struggle, I have changed reports.
Moved back to ACCOR.
** Find some research on the company in previous posts.

Research into the company
ACCOR
Gathering look and feel elements from their previous marketing. Their logo has changed over the past few years and i find it is very simple and clean, consequently their design has slightly changed along with it. I want to continue the blue, white and grey elements and hopefully produce something unique.

DIRECTIONS
Employing lots of colour and being selective will be my angle for different styles.
Possibilities
Still coming up blank but trying to work with what I have...
Some things I'm working with, adding onto the ones I have already uploaded. I'm finding even when I like one design it's a struggle to continue the concept onto other pages and then furthermore to design something different again. I feel unqualified to redesign...

Hitting a brick wall
Feeling behind in this project and un-skilled to redesign these reports.
This is just me but I find when ever I have something that is already designed and designed well, I struggle redesigning it once let alone twice. I find myself looking at the original and coming up blank.
Starting back on the drawing board is my best option, trying to research and source inspiration...
Design Concepts
Look and Feel
Typography
It is interesting to look through other annual reports from Disney over the years, it seems that they have incorporated a classic serif for headings and a san-serif for the body copy. I don't actually mind it and wondering if it's something that should stay or be altered. The serif is very classy and reflects well upon the company, the san-serif I feel is used for readibility more than anything else. Something to consider...

Image Direction and Colour
As the annual reports for Disney have improved over time, they keep their look. Thats very colourful and playful, I think this is important to keep as a concept because it reflects their mission statement. Lots of colours and gradients and bright images have been used previously, I like to think its important to keep.
The past annual reports I have seen also incorporate image pages as well, the images are an important detail to the report, it shows how they are doing and all their new projects.
Information Graphics
As they stand from previous reports, the info graphics aren't all that great. They are very basic and for a animation company the graphs feel out of place. Revamping the existing graphs will definitely be needed. Below are the existing graphs...
Header + Footer + Grid
After loads of research into other annual reports I have found that the header and footer generally remain consistent throughout but also doesn't take up too much space. Headings are essential and create a flow line.
Grid-wise, columns are very popular it is a toss up between having a 2x4 grid and a 3x4.
Time to put all these considerations together and create two distinct layouts. Tough task.

First thoughts and options
Just playing around with the logo and the different compositions at the moment.
Sketches
Not really sure if this is my forte...
The requirements are to create TWO DISTINCTLY DIFFERENT outcomes. I am not going to lie but it is a challenge, not sure if I'm upto it however.
Trying out my ideas in sketches - I know sketches are important but I also feel like you can't accurately work to them because body copy is under or over estimated. The general placement is essential and I do understand that, just hope it works out how I'd like it to.
